Meet Jayme Severance, Waypoint Writing’s Newest Copywriter

Editor’s Note:

Recently, my inbox dinged with an employment inquiry from a copywriter named Jayme Severance. Local to my town, Jayme had been struggling to find consistent work. Unlike those of us who have experienced similar frustration, I’m confident none of us have had to overcome a fraction of what Jayme, a traumatic brain injury survivor, has in order to get in the game — nevermind, compete. Check out the following Q&A with Jayme… evidence of the talent behind his same-day hire.

Up for a Giveaway Challenge? Beat this Blog Post!

Since we had so much fun with our first blog post giveaway, we decided to create another one and see where it might lead. Only this time, it comes with a challenge…

Our own Jenna R. London has written a blog post devoted to what we do at Waypoint Writing. But, she’s done so according to rules of her own design, resulting in a hidden phrase, which could read as a command, goal, or one hell of a compelling hashtag. Give it a read to find the phrase and figure out the rule she created to craft this unique blog post. Think you know the answers? Contact us! Only correct entries will be considered, with the winner pulled at random at 5 p.m. on Friday. The prize? A blog post written in this same style, dedicated to your specific brand, which you can then publish on your blog, highlight in a newsletter, share via email, or use for your own giveaway.

Give it a try and contact us with your response ASAP! Good luck!!

Top 3 Takeaways from Our First Giveaway

Last Friday, after tossing names into a cast iron pan and randomly selecting a slip of paper, we chose the winner of Waypoint Writing’s first giveaway. Kelly Cummings, of Kelly Anne Photography, won two free blog posts, which will be created and carefully crafted in support of her business and brand. In order to figure out just what that support might look like, Kelly and I jumped on a call to discuss her business, her goals, and why she entered the blog post giveaway in the first place.

Her responses will undoubtedly resonate with our readers who are juggling the act of working both in and on their own business… with precious little time to blog on a regular basis.

Evidently, approximately 36% of Americans drink wine, with 38% of us (who me?) imbibing on a weekly basis. The top consumers by generation are matched by millennials and Baby Boomers. Considering that 15% of millennials still live at home, it’s not surprising to observe shared drinking habits.

So, since wine is clearly winning, why should a vineyard or winery need a blog?

In preparation for today’s visit to LaBelle Winery, Kristin and I thought the question seemed worthy of some consideration. Here are the top three reasons you should consider blogging about your vineyard or winery in 2018.

Celebrity Chef Celebrates Restaurant Blogs

What a wonderful time to own a restaurant. Thanks to so many television cooking shows and channels, like NPR’s “The Salt,” you now have a more educated clientele than ever before: this is the era of the “foodie.” Foodies know what they like, take pride in their knowledge of specialty diets, food trends and ingredients, and they are not afraid to spend money on dishes that they feel are part of their culinary identity. Some even travel to far-flung destinations around the world to further refine that identity.
